Steve Marquart comes to us live from Fargo, North Dakota, subtly braving the trials and traffic of a downtown lifestyle.

When not spending time with his wife, Brenda, he is exploring his German heritage, uncovering the literal meaning of the word “Jagermeister” and acquiring an unusual fondness for symbol-laden folksongs of the 1500s.

He brings to the band his delicate guitar-playing and a clear, tenor voice which holds no indication of his other life as a high school English teacher and a baseball and basketball coach.

Because of Steve, the Trio has been honored with bona fide groupies, a loyal and humorous bunch who could be known as “Master Eugene and the Merry Marquarts.”

Steve is the most dedicated member of the band, playing through sickness, cynicism, and mosquitoes on his forehead, and the Trio has come to depend on his mellow acceptance of covering weird songs.
